14.26 Clerks Report July 2025
Response from South Kesteven District Council Enforcement Office with relation to ENF25/0118
Location: 90 Church Street, Deeping St James, Lincolnshire, PE6 8HD,
Alleged Breach: Unauthorised works to 2x TPO's (Tree Preservation Order)
Received on 19th June 2025
I refer to the above matter and your enquiry, dated 6th May 2025.
Apologies for the delay in response. I have carried out a visit to the property to confirm the works and we are currently seeking to organise a tree consultant to make a full assessment of the works, as we currently have no permanent tree officer in place.
We are very concerned with the works and are taking great care in our action to resolve this issue. I should be able to provide further news once we have fully reviewed the information available with a specialist and gathered enough evidence for any action that may occur.
Whilst the Council tries to resolve enquiries as quickly as possible, some investigations and resulting actions can become complex and may take some time to resolve. I will write to you again once the case is resolved, a planning application is submitted, or an Enforcement Notice is served.
If you have any further questions or need any more information, please contact me using the details above, quoting: ENF25/0118.

16.26 To consider Postland Management Ltd request for street naming 141B Eastgate.
Please see below from Street Naming at SKDC.
Unfortunately, we have to choose another name for the development rear of 141B Eastgate, DSJ and ask the Parish Council to approve it.
Our request is for:
Willow Croft Close or Willow Close
I have checked and neither already exist in DSJ or Peterborough
Also, I would like to change Plot 2 from The Weavers House to just The Weavers
Please advise.

17.26 To consider the purchase of a solar powered speed indicator device.
Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership response to Solar SID information request.
For solar type signs, they need to be erected on dedicated posts, due to their overall size and weight. They would be too big for lamp posts.
I can arrange for posts at a cost of £200.
So, as you can imagine, the location would be pretty much permanent. You can move the overall units, but they would be quite cumbersome to move – certainly on a regular basis.
We have erected some solar units at Deeping St Nicholas and Baston Parishes. These are from a company called Elan City. But useful if you want to have a look at them.
Westcotec also do a decent unit and so I’ll attach some information.
Cost wise, I think you’re looking at about £3,000.
Anyway, have a think and we’ll go from there. If your Parish are keen, then I’ll pop down and chat things through and look at some locations on site.
Hope that helps,
Kind regards

DSJPC: Deeping St James Parish Council recommend refusal.
The extension is readily viewable from street level and stands out with long views from Brewton Drive. It is of a style that is markedly different, bearing no relationship to the present reasonably cohesive design of the wider area and the materials used locally. By presenting high parapet walls, combined with its white rendered finish, there is a considerable adverse visual impact. Its size, height, materials, appearance, and design therefore results in a structure that detracts from the street scene and general character of the area.
