Cemetery Regulations

The Parish Council staff are working hard to maintain the Cemetery to a high standard.

Please help them to do this by following the cemetery regulations below:

Sections D, E and F of Deeping St James Cemetery are laid out as a lawn cemetery, with all areas being kept under grass, for ease of maintenance.

To adhere to current Health and Safety Regulations, the only types of memorial permitted are a headstone, a stone tablet, or a vase block. These must be an approved size, and must be installed in the bed by a qualified stone mason.

Memorials must be in line with headstones on adjacent graves, and may not be installed until six months after the date of burial.

Please do not plant any trees, shrubs, plants, or flowers around or on graves.

Old flowers, wreaths and other floral tributes must be disposed of in the waste containers provided.

Please keep the grass areas clear of vases to allow the grass to be cut and the area kept tidy.

Thank you for your co-operation in observing the regulations, enabling a high standard of maintenance in the cemetery, for the benefit of us all.

If you have any questions please either speak to a member of staff at the Cemetery or contact the Parish Council office at clerk@deepingstjames-pc.gov.uk or by telephone on 01778 343266.
